Washington State Cheese Trail
Expiration: Dec 8th 2025
Join the search for Washington State Cheese! Whether you travel north, south, east, or west in search of nature, history, foodie delights and good beverages, or a nice place to stay the night, there is cheese waiting to be discovered in each corner of our state. Washington is known as a destination for those seeking the outdoors, whether for a taste of nature or to scope out another historical marker. It is also a state plentiful with agricultural goods harvested from both land and sea—including abundant breweries, cideries, meaderies, and wineries, ripe for pairing with delicious local cheese made by one of Washington’s nearly 50 licensed cheesemakers. Our state is proud to offer more than 200 types of locally crafted cheese made from cow, goat and sheep’s milks. Many of those cheeses are hyper-local, sold within a few dozen miles of where they are made; others are available from grocers across the region. Head to the farmers’ market, the cheesemaker’s shop, or to a store or restaurant on this list – explore the great state of Washington and discover all its cheeses!
